Rate Cards for Resource Types
How rate cards price a resource type, why each type owns its own cards, and how to set a default card, add cards and link several cards to an organization resource.
A rate card holds the rates for a resource type: what it costs you and what you charge. Each resource type owns its rate cards, so pricing for a type lives with the type.
How Rate Cards Work
A type can have several cards, and exactly one of them is the default. The first card you add becomes the default automatically. Anything that needs a price for the type, such as a request for it, uses the default card unless a different card is chosen. When a request overrides the card, it picks from that type's cards.
Because cards belong to a type, a card cannot be reused on another type. If two types share a price, each carries its own card.
Organization Resources and Variants
The resources you own, and the variants of a type, can link to several of the type's cards, with one marked as the default. This lets a single resource carry, for example, a standard card and a weekend card while still having one default to fall back on. Events use a single card reference instead of a list.

The Used by column shows how many variants, resources and requests point at each card. A card that is in use cannot be deleted, and the tooltip names what uses it. Move those references to another card first.
